The Spectra S1+ Double Rechargeable Breast Pump is a traditional double electric breast pump built for regular, everyday expressing. It runs on a built-in rechargeable battery that gives up to around three hours of pumping on a full charge, so you can express away from a plug point — handy during load shedding or when you're pumping on the move. It's a closed-system pump with two-phase expression and independently adjustable speed and suction, letting you set it to a level that feels comfortable for you.

Two-phase expression with independent control

Powered pumps that use two phases move through a faster starting pattern and then a slower, stronger working pattern. On the S1+ you control each phase yourself:

• Let-down mode: Runs at 70 cycles per minute with a choice of five suction strength settings for the first, faster phase of a session.
• Expression mode: Offers five speed settings (38 to 54 cycles per minute) and 12 suction strength settings for the slower, stronger phase.
• Independent adjustment: Cycle speed (how often it draws and releases) and suction strength (vacuum) are set separately, so you can fine-tune both. The vacuum range runs from 0 to 320 mmHg, with a cycle speed of 38–105 RPM.
• Auto power-off: The pump switches off after 30 minutes as a built-in safety feature.

A gentle starting point is to keep the vacuum low and increase it gradually to a level that stays comfortable.

Closed system and easy cleaning

The S1+ is a closed-system pump with washable backflow protectors that sit between the milk and the tubing, helping to keep milk from reaching the tubing and motor. Every attachment that comes into contact with your milk is BPA-free, and the parts are straightforward to take apart, clean and sterilise — and easy to replace when they wear. The pump carries CE and FDA clearance and is manufactured in South Korea.

Single or double pumping

The kit includes everything you need for both single and double pumping. Double pumping saves time, while single pumping lets you multitask — for example, feeding your baby on one side while expressing on the other. When single pumping, leave the air cap on the second nozzle.
