The Spectra Membrane for Backflow Protector is a replacement silicone membrane for the backflow protector used in your Spectra breast pump. It sits between the upper and lower cases of the protector, creating the seal that lets the pump build suction while keeping your milk separated from the motor. If the membrane wears down or is damaged, this spare lets you refresh that seal without buying a whole new backflow protector.

Spectra pumps use a closed system, which means your breast milk never comes into contact with the pump itself. The backflow protector is what makes that possible, and the membrane is the small part inside it doing the work of regulating air pressure. Over time silicone loses some elasticity, and a worn membrane can mean weaker suction and a less comfortable session — so having a fresh one on hand is a simple way to keep your pump working the way it should.
