The Nose Frida Nasal Aspirator is the original Swedish NoseFrida, a simple, drug-free way to clear a baby's or toddler's blocked nose. Instead of squeezing a bulb, you control the suction yourself: the large tube rests against the outside of your little one's nostril, and you gently draw out the mucus through the red mouthpiece. A disposable hygiene filter sits inside the aspirator to stop mucus and germs from travelling up the tube.
Because the tube creates a seal on the outside of the nostril and never goes inside the nose, it's a gentle option for newborns and small babies who can't yet blow their own noses. Clearing a stuffy nose before feeds and sleep can help your little one breathe more comfortably, and NoseFrida can also be used after saline drops or spray to loosen thick or crusty mucus. The NoseFrida is made in Sweden, invented by a doctor, and is BPA and phthalate free.
How it works
- You control the suction: Gentle suction from your mouth through the thin tube, so you can adjust it to suit your baby.
- Outside the nostril: The large tapered tube seals against the outside of the nostril rather than going inside it.
- Hygiene filters: Frida says the disposable filters are clinically proven to prevent mucus or bacteria passing through to the tube and mouthpiece.
- Storage case: Comes in a case you can keep it in between uses, at home or in the nappy bag.
How to use
- Make sure a new hygiene filter is in place inside the aspirator.
- Lay your little one on their back and place the large tube against the outside of one nostril, creating a seal. Do not insert it into the nose.
- Put the red mouthpiece in your mouth and gently suck to draw out the mucus. Repeat on the other nostril.
- After each session, remove and throw away the used filter.
- Clean the parts, let them dry and snap them back together with a fresh filter ready for next time.
Best For
The Nose Frida Nasal Aspirator is a good option for parents who:
- Want a drug-free way to clear a newborn's, baby's or toddler's blocked nose
- Prefer to control the suction themselves rather than use a squeeze bulb
- Want a hygienic aspirator with replaceable filters for cold and flu season
It may not be the right fit if you:
- Would prefer battery-powered suction instead of using your own
Pandylane Pro Tip: A few drops of saline before you start helps loosen thick mucus, which makes it much easier to clear. Keep a pack of Nose Frida Aspirator Filters on hand so you always have a fresh one ready.
Disclaimer
Use a new hygiene filter every time, and never insert the large tube into the nostril. NoseFrida helps relieve a blocked nose but does not treat the cause. If your baby is struggling to breathe, has a fever, is feeding poorly or seems unwell, contact a healthcare professional.
