Munchkin Auto Close Metal Safety Gate 28cm Extension

The Munchkin Auto Close Metal Safety Gate 28cm Extension is a white add-on panel that widens your pressure-mounted safety gate so it fits a broader opening. If your doorway, hallway or stairway gap is too wide for the gate on its own, this extension closes the difference and lets you keep using the gate you already have.

This 28cm extension is designed to work with the Munchkin Easy Close, Auto Close and Safe Step Metal Gates. It matches the white finish of those gates, so the extended barrier looks consistent across the opening. Extensions are available in three sizes — 7cm, 14cm and 28cm — so you can choose the width that suits your space, or combine them to reach the length you need.

Getting the right fit

Measuring your opening before you buy is the important step here. Pressure-mounted gates and their extensions rely on a snug fit against solid, compatible surfaces on both sides, so it's worth checking your gap against the extension sizes available (7cm, 14cm and 28cm) to work out which one — or which combination — brings you to the width you're working with.

Best For

The Munchkin Auto Close Metal Safety Gate 28cm Extension is a great option for parents who:

• Already own a Munchkin Easy Close, Auto Close or Safe Step Metal Gate and need to fit it to a wider opening
• Want to match the white finish of their existing Munchkin metal gate
• Need a larger single extension, or want to combine sizes to reach a specific width

It may not be the right fit if you own a gate from another range or brand, as these extensions are designed for the Munchkin metal gates listed above.

A note on installation

An extension changes the width of your gate but not how it should be fitted. Follow the gate's own installation instructions, make sure the barrier sits securely against suitable surfaces on both sides, and re-check the fit over time. A safety gate works as part of everyday supervision rather than in place of it.
