The ergoPouch Jersey Sleeping Bag 1.0 TOG is a wearable sleeping bag made for arms-out sleepers, usually from around 3 months of age. With its slim-fit, stretchy design that feels similar to a swaddle, it's recommended as baby's 'first sleeping bag' for the transition after the swaddling phase is over — giving your little one the freedom to move their arms while still feeling snug and settled.
Instead of loose blankets in the cot, this TOG-rated sleep sack keeps your baby covered as they move through the night. The 1.0 TOG rating is suited to rooms between 21–24°C, and the breathable organic and natural fibres help regulate your child's temperature. Because the warmth is built into the bag, there's no need for additional blankets in the cot when using this product.
Soft, skin-friendly fabrics
The bag is made from soft, stretchy GOTS certified organic cotton and bamboo viscose (with a touch of elastane for stretch), a non-toxic blend that's gentle on baby's skin. All ergoPouch fabrics are dyed with non-toxic, water-based dyes, and the garment has been reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia as a skin-friendly product — worth knowing if your baby has sensitive or eczema-prone skin. The prints and colours are designed in-house to suit any nursery.
Room to move, hips included
The stretchy fabric lets baby move more freely and stay comfortable while they sleep. The ergonomically designed bag features a bell-shaped bottom to give the legs and hips room to move, which promotes healthy hip joint development — a design approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.
How it Works
- Arms-out design: The arms stay free while the torso and legs are contained, suiting babies who have moved on from swaddling and want more movement.
- Two-way zip: The bag zips closed for the night and opens from the bottom, so you can release the legs and lower torso for a nappy change or to cool baby down without fully undressing them.
- TOG-rated warmth: The 1.0 TOG rating indicates the bag's warmth, helping you match it to a 21–24°C room and layer appropriately underneath.
How to Use
- Lay the Jersey Bag on a flat, low surface with the zip open.
- Lay your child on top, put their arms through the arm holes, tuck their legs into the pouch and zip up.
- To change a nappy or cool your child down, unzip from the bottom of the pouch to release the legs and lower torso, then zip closed again when finished.
- Layer underneath for warmth as needed, and use ErgoPouch Arm Warmers on top for extra warmth.
A FREE room thermometer and What to Wear guide come with the bag to help you layer appropriately for the room temperature. For extra warmth in cooler conditions, it can be paired with one of the TOG-rated ergoPouch Layers (all sold separately).
