Dreambaby General Purpose Latch

The Dreambaby General Purpose Latch is a tool-free babyproofing latch designed to add a layer of protection to cupboards, drawers and other openings around the home. It fixes in place with a super-strength adhesive backing, so there's no drilling or screws involved — a practical option if you're renting or would rather not put holes in your furniture.

Because it's a multi-purpose latch rather than one made for a single fitting, it can be used in almost any room. The adhesive is designed to attach to most surfaces, including glass, timber, metal and laminates, which gives you flexibility to place it where you actually need it. A visual locking indicator lets you see at a glance whether the latch is engaged, so it's easy to confirm it's done up each time you close the cupboard or drawer.

How to use it

Installation is straightforward and needs no tools: clean and dry the surface, then press the latch firmly into position and allow the adhesive to bond before use. Because adhesive strength depends on a clean, compatible and fully cured surface, take a moment to check it's holding well before you rely on it, and re-check the bond from time to time as part of your usual safety once-over.

Best For

The Dreambaby General Purpose Latch is a great option for parents who:

• Want a damage-free way to secure cupboards and drawers without drilling
• Are renting or would prefer to preserve their furniture
• Need a versatile latch that can move between different surfaces and rooms
• Like being able to see whether a latch is locked at a glance

It may not be the best fit if you need a hardware-mounted solution for a high-consequence location, where a screw-fixed device is more appropriate.

A note on safe use

A latch like this can help delay a curious child's access to a cupboard or drawer, but no device makes a home childproof. Adult supervision and storing hazardous items securely and out of reach remain the primary safeguards.
