Dreambaby Ava 9cm Gate Extension

The Dreambaby Ava 9cm Gate Extension is an add-on panel that widens your existing Dreambaby Ava Security Gate so it fits a broader doorway, hallway or stair opening. If you've measured your space and found the standard gate falls just short, this extension bridges that gap without you having to buy a whole new gate — a practical way to keep a safety gate working across the awkwardly wide openings that most homes have somewhere.

Finished in charcoal to match the Ava range, the extension attaches to the side of your gate before installation. It shares the gate's pressure-mounted design, so there's no drilling into your walls or door frame — a useful point if you're renting or would rather not leave holes behind.

What it's compatible with

This extension is made to work with Dreambaby Ava standard height gates only. It measures 9cm wide and 76cm high, and is made from steel. You can add up to two extensions to an Ava gate — a maximum of one per side — and by combining the correct extensions you can widen the standard gate up to 1.35 metres. Because fit depends entirely on your gate model and opening, it's worth confirming you have an Ava standard height gate before you order.

How to fit it

The extension attaches to your gate before you install the gate into the opening, and it comes with the mounting cups and strong double-sided tape needed to secure it in place. Full instructions are included in the packaging, and the extension must be fitted according to those instructions to work correctly. Allow the double-sided tape to set for at least 24 hours before tugging on the gate or placing any pressure on it, so the adhesive can cure properly.

Looking after it

Wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth using mild detergent and warm water. Check the gate regularly to make sure it stays secure, and confirm that the wall mounts and tension knobs remain firmly in place, adjusting as needed.

Best For

The Dreambaby Ava 9cm Gate Extension is a great option for parents who:

• Already own a Dreambaby Ava standard height gate and need to fit a wider opening
• Want to widen a pressure-mounted gate without drilling
• Have an opening the standard gate doesn't quite reach across

It may not be the right fit if you:

• Have a gate from a different range or brand — this extension is for Ava standard height gates only
• Need to widen the gate beyond 1.35 metres, or by more than one extension per side

Disclaimer

Do not use the safety gate if any components are damaged or missing. The gate must be fitted according to the included instructions to work correctly, and should be checked regularly to ensure it stays secure. A safety gate is one layer of protection and does not replace adult supervision.

Pandylane Pro Tip: Measure your opening first, then work out how many extensions you need — Ava gates take a maximum of two, one per side, so the widest measurement you can reach is 1.35 metres with the standard gate.
