Carmien Kiddies Pure Organic Rooibos Tea is a naturally caffeine-free rooibos made for little ones, with a naturally sweet taste and no added sugar. It's organically grown and free from pesticides, giving you a simple, everyday drink to work into your child's routine — served warm on cooler days or as a chilled iced tea when it's hot. Each pack contains 20 teabags, and the only ingredient is organic rooibos.
Because rooibos is naturally caffeine-free, kilojoule-free, preservative-free and sugar-free, it's an easy option to reach for alongside water and milk feeds. It has a gently sweet flavour on its own, so many children enjoy it without anything added — though you can serve it with or without milk, a slice of lemon, or a little honey or sugar if you'd like it sweeter (honey is only suitable from 12 months).
Sustainable Fibre+ teabags
The pillow teabags are made with Fibre+, a non-plastic filter paper that offers a more sustainable alternative to conventional teabags. One thing to keep in mind: don't boil the teabags directly, as the plant-based paper can tear open — steep in pre-boiled water instead.
How to prepare it
Rooibos is versatile and can be served hot or as iced tea, so you can adjust it to the season and to what your child prefers.
Hot rooibos
- Steep one teabag in 250 ml of pre-boiled water (around 100°C) for 5–10 minutes, or to taste.
- Remove the teabag and enjoy with or without milk, honey, sugar or a slice of lemon.
- It's best enjoyed at approximately 60°C — always allow the tea to cool before serving it to children.
Iced rooibos
- Add 1 teabag for every 250 ml of cold or room-temperature water in a jug, water bottle or travel cup.
- Steep for 10 to 30 minutes, stirring or shaking occasionally.
- Remove the teabags and serve with or without ice. Refrigerate and use within 24 hours.

Pandylane Pro Tip: Steep a jug of the iced version in the morning and keep it in the fridge — it's an easy caffeine-free option to pour into a travel cup for outings, as long as you use it within 24 hours.
