The BabyWombWorld FR202 Infrared Thermometer is a forehead thermometer that estimates body temperature from the infrared energy given off by the skin. You position the probe near the forehead, and the reading appears on the HD LCD display shortly after — helpful when you're trying to check a fussy, sleepy or unsettled baby without too much disturbance.
Taking a temperature during an illness can feel stressful enough without wrestling with the device itself. This infrared thermometer is designed to be quick and straightforward to use, so you can take a reading, note it, and focus on comforting your little one. It reads in forehead mode across 34.9°C–42.2°C with a stated accuracy of ±0.2°C, and also includes an object mode for measuring surfaces and liquids from 0°C–100°C — useful for checking something like bath water or a warmed bottle. Because the two modes measure very differently, always make sure you're in the correct mode for what you're checking.
Easy to read and easy to use
The HD LCD display shows readings clearly at a resolution of 0.1°C, and you can switch between °C and °F to suit your preference. It stores up to 20 sets of measurement data, so you can look back and track how a temperature is changing over the course of an illness rather than relying on memory. An automatic shutdown (around 10 seconds) helps preserve battery life between readings. It runs on 2 x AAA batteries, which aren't included in the box.
A quick word on resolution and accuracy
The 0.1°C display resolution tells you how finely the number is shown — it isn't the same as accuracy, which is stated separately as ±0.2°C in the ranges above. For the most consistent results, follow the instructions for positioning and distance exactly, and repeat a reading correctly if a number looks unexpected.

Disclaimer
A thermometer estimates temperature to help you recognise and track a fever — it does not diagnose the cause or severity of an illness. A reading should always be considered alongside your child's age, the measurement method and how they seem overall. Very young infants and any child who appears seriously unwell need prompt clinical assessment regardless of a reassuring number. Always follow the device instructions for correct use.
