We’re a registered provider and can assist you in claiming for medical aid approved devices from Discovery. We do not have an arrangement with Discovery so you will need to pay upfront and claim back.
How it Works
Discovery provides coverage for essential registered devices, such as breast pumps, baby monitors, and smart thermometers, when purchased from registered providers like us.
Once you’ve selected the products you need, simply place your order online and enter your medical aid details at checkout. After completing your payment, we’ll send you a paid invoice that you can submit to Discovery for reimbursement.

Once payment has been completed and we have begun processing you order, We will send you a detailed invoice to submit to your scheme via the Discovery App or by emailing it to claims@discovery.co.za.

What devices can I claim for?
You can apply for any breast pump, baby breathing monitor, and smart thermometer, as long as it is registered as a medical device and has a NAPPI code.
Do I need to pay upfront?
Yes, you will need to pay upfront and claim back from Discovery.
How long does this process usually take?
With Discovery, you will need to pay upfront and claim back. Once payment in full is received, we will process your order and provide you with an invoice to submit to your scheme. You can expect this process to take around 2-7 business days.
What do I do if my baby arrives early or I need my devices urgently?
If your baby arrives earlier than expected or you need your pump, breathing monitor, or any other essential items urgently, please give us a call. We are here to help and will do our best to get you what you need as quickly as possible.
How do I know if a device will be covered by Discovery?
Please review the 2024 Discovery Maternity Benefit Guide to check your coverage. When in doubt, please contact Discovery directly to verify your coverage.
Do I need a script from my doctor to claim?
To claim for certain devices such as humidifiers and nebulisers, you may need a script from your OB-GYN, pediatrician, and/or your GP for your claim to be submitted successfully. When submitting to Discovery, attach a copy of your script.
Are there any fees or extra costs for claiming?
There are absolutely no extra fees or hidden costs when claiming.
Can I order non-approved items in the same order?
Yes, you can order any items you would like. We will send you an invoice with your items and all the necessary codes to submit to your scheme.
