Goes great with ...
  • Rattle and teether in one: Combines a shakeable rattle with textured surfaces to chew on, so baby gets more than one way to play.
  • Soothes sore gums: Supple and hard textured material is designed to help soothe painful gums during teething.
  • Easy to hold: The open ring shape is simple for little hands to grab and handle.
  • Cause and effect: Shake it and the coloured marbles inside knock together, so baby learns their movement makes a sound.
  • Draws attention: Bright colours give baby's eyes something to notice and track.
  • Busy fingers welcome: Four geometric shapes slide around the ring for extra exploration.
  • Ready to gift: Comes in a pretty gift box, making it easy to give to a new baby.

The Sophie la Girafe Multi-Textured Rattle is a combination baby rattle and teether built around an easy-to-hold ring shape. It brings together textures to chew on, bright colours to look at and gentle sound to shake, so a baby has several different ways to explore a single toy — with the familiar face of Sophie la girafe along for the ride.

Designed for little hands that are just starting to reach, grasp and mouth everything in sight, this teething rattle combines supple and hard textured material to chew on, which is intended to help soothe sore, painful gums. Bright colours draw baby's attention, while four geometric shapes slide around the ring and coloured marbles knock together inside when it's shaken.

What baby can do with it

Because there are a few different actions built in, this rattle tends to hold interest as baby grows. The ring shape is easy to grab hold of and turn over, the sliding shapes invite fiddling and repositioning, and shaking it makes the marbles move and rattle — a simple, repeatable bit of cause and effect where baby's action produces a sound and movement they can see and hear.

How it works

  • Multi-textured surfaces: Supple and hard textured material gives baby different things to chew on, designed to help soothe painful gums during teething.
  • Visual stimulation: Bright colours draw baby's attention and give the eyes something to track.
  • Cause and effect: Shaking the rattle sends the coloured marbles knocking together inside, so baby learns that their movement makes something happen.
  • Ring shape: The open ring is easy to grab and handle, suiting an early palmar grasp and hand-to-hand transfer.
  • Sliding shapes: Four geometric shapes move around the ring, adding another thing for busy fingers to explore.
