The Pigeon Training Toothbrush Lesson 4 is the final step in Pigeon's training toothbrush system, made for toddlers from 18 months who have most or all of their milk teeth (around 12–20) coming through. It's a toddler toothbrush designed to help your little one move towards holding the brush themselves and building an independent brushing routine, while you're still there to guide and finish off.
Co-developed with a paediatric dentist, it has soft, rounded bristle ends that are gentle on little gums, and a curved, toddler-friendly handle shaped for a natural grip and better control in small hands. A cute character design helps keep brushing time something your toddler looks forward to, and a handy suction base lets the brush stand upright and stay clean between uses. It's BPA-free.
Where it fits in the training system
The Pigeon Training Toothbrush System is built for a gradual introduction to oral care, moving through stages as your child grows. Lesson 4 is the last stage — it's designed to help your toddler practise brushing on their own while the design still offers some guidance, easing the transition to a regular children's toothbrush.
How to Use
After each use, rinse the toothbrush well under running water and dry it off before storing it upright on its suction base. It can be sterilised by boiling, steam sterilisation or sterilising tablets. As with any brushing at this stage, keep supervising sessions so you can help with technique.
Best For
The Pigeon Training Toothbrush Lesson 4 is a great option for parents who:
- Have a toddler of 18 months or older with most of their milk teeth through
- Want to encourage independent brushing while still guiding and finishing off
- Are already using the Pigeon training system and want the next step
- Prefer a brush that stands upright and stays clean between uses
It may not be the right fit if your child is younger or only has their first teeth coming through, in which case an earlier step in the system is likely to suit better.
Pandylane Pro Tip: Pair it with a pea-sized amount of a fluoride-free toothpaste formulated for young children, such as the Pigeon Baby Toothgel, and keep supervising to help with technique and to limit how much toothpaste is swallowed.
