The Pigeon Training Toothbrush Lesson 1 is a baby's first toothbrush, designed to introduce the idea of brushing before any real cleaning begins. Co-developed with a paediatric dentist, it swaps bristles for a soft elastomer rubber head that gently massages tender gums, helping your little one get used to the sensation of holding a brush and having something in their mouth.
Suitable for babies from around 6 to 8 months, or with 0 to 4 milk teeth, it's a low-pressure way to start building a positive oral care routine. The thick, contoured handle is shaped for tiny hands to grasp, encouraging independent holding and self-exploration, while an attachable safety shield helps prevent the brush from being pushed too far into the mouth.
How to Use
After each use, rinse the toothbrush well under running water and dry it off. It can be sterilised by boiling, steam sterilisation or sterilising tablets. As with all oral care at this stage, keep brushing time supervised and let your baby explore at their own pace.
Best For
The Pigeon Training Toothbrush Lesson 1 is a great option for parents who:
- Are beginning oral care with a baby around 6 to 8 months, or with their first milk teeth
- Want to help their baby get comfortable holding a brush before proper cleaning starts
- Prefer a bristle-free, soft elastomer head for gently massaging tender gums
It may not be the best fit if:
- Your baby already has several teeth and needs a brush with bristles for cleaning
Pandylane Pro Tip
Pandylane Pro Tip: As your baby shows more interest and their grasping skills develop, you can move up to the Pigeon Training Toothbrush Lesson 2, which introduces fine bristles for gentle cleaning of teeth and gums.
