The Pigeon Trainer Toothbrush Set is a three-stage training toothbrush system that helps you introduce oral care gradually — from your baby's very first gum massage through to brushing with toothpaste. Co-developed with a leading paediatric dentist, the set brings together three baby toothbrushes, one for each stage, so brushing can grow alongside your little one from around 6 to 18 months.
Rather than a single brush, this is a step-by-step system designed to match how a baby's mouth develops. Each lesson has a soft head or bristles suited to the stage, and Steps 1 and 2 include a safety shield that snaps securely onto the brush to help keep the head from going too far into the mouth. It's a gentle way to build familiarity with brushing early, before that first tooth even arrives.
A three-stage system that grows with baby
- Lesson 1 (6–8 months, 0–4 milk teeth): A soft elastomer head with a wide, easy-grip handle lets baby learn the feel of a toothbrush and gently massage tender teeth and gums.
- Lesson 2 (8–12 months, 4–8 milk teeth): Soft elastomer bristles mimic a regular toothbrush and begin cleaning baby teeth as they come through, including in between.
- Lesson 3 (12–18 months, 8–20 milk teeth): Soft, rounded nylon bristles help remove food particles once most milk teeth are in, and this stage is suitable for use with toothpaste.
A tongue cleaner is included to help remove residual dirt from baby's tongue as part of the routine.
How to Use
For Lessons 1 and 2, insert the safety shield onto the toothbrush head and push it down until it snaps on securely, then let baby gently massage or brush their teeth and gums. For Lesson 3, apply a rice-grain-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste and allow baby to brush for around two minutes.
After each use, rinse the toothbrush well under running water and allow it to dry thoroughly. All three steps can be sterilised by boiling, steam sterilisation or sterilising tablets, so they're easy to keep hygienic alongside your other baby items.
Best For
The Pigeon Trainer Toothbrush Set is a good option for parents who:
- Want to introduce brushing early and build a routine as baby moves through each stage
- Prefer a value pack that covers oral care from the first gum massage to brushing with toothpaste
- Like the reassurance of a safety shield on the earlier stages and a soft head or bristles matched to baby's development
Because the set runs from about 6 to 18 months, it may be less relevant if your child is already past this stage and using an older-child toothbrush.
Pandylane Pro Tip: Keep Lesson 3 aside for once most milk teeth are in — that's the stage designed for use with a rice-grain amount of fluoride toothpaste, so you're not reaching for paste before baby is ready.
