It sits in the milk path between the collection cup and the pump, where its job is to stop expressed milk and moisture from flowing back into the pump mechanism — helping keep your milk path clean and protecting the motor from milk overflow.

Made from soft, food-grade, BPA-free silicone, the backflow protector is a wear part rather than an upgrade.
