Maxi-Cosi Sense Carry Cot

The Maxi-Cosi Sense Carry Cot is a lie-flat carrycot that gives your newborn a spacious, cushioned place to rest while you're out and about — whether you're strolling through the park or navigating the city. Suitable from birth up to approximately 6 months (0–9 kg), it lets your baby travel on their back in a flat position, with a breathable memory foam mattress underneath and a covering canopy overhead.

What sets the Sense apart is how much thought has gone into keeping baby comfortable across the seasons. The reversible memory foam mattress has soft 100% organic cotton on one side and a breathable mesh on the other, so you can flip it to suit the weather, while integrated ClimaFlow ventilation panels and a see-through window in the canopy keep air moving on warmer days — a genuine plus in the South African heat.

Comfort designed around your newborn

The spacious interior gives your baby room to settle, move and grow through the early months. The SoothingSlope feature lets you pull a strap to gently incline the carrycot, which is designed to help minimise reflux and aid your baby's digestion. Between the memory foam mattress and the cocooning canopy with its integrated visor, the Sense is built to help your little one snooze through an outing.

Ventilation for year-round use

Airflow is handled in a few ways working together. The ClimaFlow panels are integrated into the body of the cot, the canopy has a mesh viewing window, and the reversible mattress offers a breathable mesh surface — all aimed at keeping baby comfortable whether it's warm or cool. The outer fabric is made with soft, 100% recycled material.

Easy to carry, easy to pack away

A comfortable premium vegan leatherette handle means lifting and carrying the Sense doesn't feel like a strain, and an integrated parent pocket keeps your essentials close while you're on the move. When you're done, the quick-fold feature collapses the carrycot into a compact package in seconds, so it's easy to store or take along.

Overnight sleep and stroller compatibility

The Sense carrycot passes the EN 1466:2023 regulation and stands sturdily on flat surfaces on its four feet. According to Maxi-Cosi, it is suitable for overnight sleeping — though for your baby's regular nightly sleep routine, they recommend using a crib, as a crib's mattress is usually thicker and specifically designed for a full night's rest. The Sense is compatible with the Maxi-Cosi Oxford and Maxi-Cosi Leona2 strollers, with the required adapters included with those strollers.

How it Works

• SoothingSlope: Pulling a strap inclines the carrycot, which is designed to help minimise reflux and aid your baby's digestion.
• ClimaFlow ventilation: Panels built into the cot body, together with the canopy window, keep air circulating for year-round comfort.
• Reversible mattress: One side is soft 100% organic cotton and the other a breathable mesh, so you can flip it to suit warmer or cooler conditions.
• Quick-fold: A fold mechanism collapses the carrycot into a compact package in seconds for storage or travel.

Best For

The Maxi-Cosi Sense Carry Cot is a great option for parents who:

• Want a lie-flat carrycot for newborn outings from birth to around 6 months (up to 9 kg)
• Are pairing it with a Maxi-Cosi Oxford or Leona2 stroller
• Value breathable, seasonally adaptable materials for the local climate
• Want a carrycot that folds down quickly for easy storage

It may not be the best fit if you:

• Have a stroller frame outside the listed compatible Maxi-Cosi models
• Are looking for a baby's primary crib for their regular nightly sleep routine

Pandylane Pro Tip: Baby can outgrow the Sense by weight (9 kg) or by length before six months — whichever comes first. Once they no longer fit but still can't sit independently, Maxi-Cosi suggests moving to the stroller seat in a reclined, parent-facing position.
