Maxi-Cosi Emerald 360 Pro Multi-Stage Car Seat

The Maxi-Cosi Emerald 360 Pro Multi-Stage Car Seat is an all-ages, i-Size car seat designed to carry your child from birth right through to around 12 years old — covering 40 to 150 cm and the full Group 0/1/2/3 range in a single seat. Instead of buying a separate infant carrier and then replacing it as your child grows, this one restraint adjusts through rearward-facing, forward-facing and booster stages, using its integrated ISOFIX base for the early years and switching to the vehicle's own seat belt as your child gets bigger.

Its standout feature is SlideTech®, which works alongside a 360° rotating base. When the seat is turned to face you, you can slide it towards you and lift your child in and out at the edge of the car rather than reaching deep across the seat — a real help during the newborn and toddler years when you're doing this several times a day. A removable Newborn inlay is included, so you can use it from birth without an extra infant seat.

Growing with your child through four stages

The Emerald 360 Pro is designed around four clear stages, each with its own setup:

• 0 – 1 year (40 – 75 cm): rearward-facing with the Newborn inlay, using the integrated harness and support leg.
• 1 – 4 years (up to 105 cm / 17 kg): rearward-facing without the inlay, integrated harness and support leg.
• 15 months – 4 years (76 – 105 cm / 17 kg): forward-facing if preferred, integrated harness and support leg.
• 4 – 12 years (100 – 150 cm): forward-facing in booster mode using the car seat belt, with the support leg and harness stored away.

Your child can travel rearward-facing from birth up to 4 years, and forward-facing from 15 months onwards if you prefer. The maximum child weight is 17 kg in harness mode and 36 kg in booster mode.

How it works

• SlideTech®: With the seat rotated 90° to face the child towards you, you pull the seat towards you to slide it out towards the car door — no extra button to press. You can use the centre handle one-handed or grasp both sides with two hands.
• 360° rotation: In driving position you unlock rotation with the handles on both sides; once in the lateral position you can turn the seat one-handed without the handle. Note that booster mode (support leg stored) blocks the rotation and SlideTech functions.
• Integrated ISOFIX base: The base is included and already attached, connecting into your car's ISOFIX points and locking into place with a support leg for the harnessed stages.
• G-CELL Side Impact Protection: An always-activated G-CELL structure is built into the side panels and headrest, designed to spread the force and help reduce injuries in a side collision.
• AirProtect®: Side-impact technology in the headrest is stated to reduce the risk of head injuries by up to 20%.
• Colour-coded indicators: A mis-use prevention system makes it clear whether the seat is correctly installed or not.

Comfort and everyday use

The seat offers five recline positions and 15 adjustable headrest heights, so you can adjust the fit as your child grows rather than re-threading a harness. The easy-in harness can be stored away in the back of the seat when you switch to booster mode — without removing the hip and shoulder pads — and ClimaFlow is built in to help with temperature control on longer journeys. The cover is made from 100% recycled Eco Care fabrics, and can be wiped down with a damp cloth or machine washed up to 30°C. The total product weight is 15.58 kg.

Installation at a glance

For children up to approximately 4 years, the seat must be installed with the ISOFIX connectors and support leg when used with the integrated harness. From 4 to 12 years, the car seat belt is used in booster mode; even then, Maxi-Cosi recommends keeping the ISOFIX connectors engaged for extra stability. When you move a child over 100 cm or heavier than 17 kg into booster mode, storing the support leg away is mandatory. When fastening the harness, tighten until you can pass only one finger between the strap and your child's body.

The Maxi-Cosi Emerald 360 Pro is a great option for parents who:

• Want a single i-Size seat that lasts from birth to around 12 years rather than replacing seats at each stage
• Lift a baby or toddler in and out often and would value the rotating, sliding access of SlideTech®
• Prefer an integrated ISOFIX base that stays with the seat
• Want to keep their child rearward-facing well into the toddler years

It may not be the best fit if you:

• Need a lightweight infant carrier that clicks onto a stroller for travel-system use
• Are working within a very tight seating position, given it's a full multi-stage seat
