The Maccie Tuck & Cuddle Newborn Bamboo Stretchy Swaddle Wrap is a stretchy, fastener-free swaddle designed to give your newborn a snug, womb-like hug. It keeps little arms comfortably tucked in, which helps calm the startle reflex that so often wakes newborns, so your baby can settle more easily for naps and night sleep.
Designed by moms in Cape Town, it's made from a soft ribbed bamboo blend (91% bamboo, 9% spandex) that's breathable and moisture-wicking to help prevent overheating. Instead of poppers, Velcro or ties, a clever triple-wing shape wraps around baby with gentle compression, so swaddling is quick, quiet and easy to get right — even at 3am. It's available in Stone and Misty Pink.
A swaddle without the fiddly bits
Traditional swaddle blankets can take practice to fold, and many swaddle bags rely on zips or Velcro. The Tuck & Cuddle's triple-wing design simply tucks and wraps, with the stretch doing the work to hold it in place. Because there are no fasteners, there's nothing scratchy against baby's skin and no noisy Velcro to wake them during a nappy change.
Made for warmer nights
Bamboo is naturally breathable and draws moisture away from the skin, which helps keep baby at a comfortable temperature. That makes this a good option for South African summers and warm rooms, where a thick swaddle can quickly become too hot.
How to Use
- Lay the wrap flat and place baby on their back in the centre, with their shoulders just below the top edge.
- Gently position baby's arms close to their body.
- Wrap and tuck each wing snugly around baby, following the triple-wing guide.
- Check the fit: snug around the chest and arms, with room for baby's legs to bend up and out at the hips, and nothing near their face.
Best For
The Maccie Tuck & Cuddle Newborn Bamboo Stretchy Swaddle Wrap is a great option for parents who:
- Have a newborn who startles awake or settles better with arms tucked in
- Want an easy swaddle without poppers, Velcro or ties
- Are looking for a breathable option for warm weather
- Prefer soft, natural fibres against delicate newborn skin
It may not be the best fit if you:
- Have a baby who is already showing signs of rolling
- Need a warmer swaddle for cold winter nights
Please note: Always place a swaddled baby on their back to sleep, on a firm, flat surface. Stop swaddling as soon as your baby shows signs of trying to roll. Make sure the wrap isn't too tight around the hips so baby's legs can bend naturally, keep it away from their face, and check they don't get too hot.
Pandylane Pro Tip: Practise swaddling a few times during the day when baby is calm. By the time you're doing it half-asleep at night, the tuck-and-wrap will feel second nature.
