The FirstView Fertility Testing Kit is a combined ovulation and pregnancy testing kit for anyone tracking their cycle at home and wanting to confirm pregnancy early. It brings two jobs together in one kit: ovulation test strips that detect the luteinising hormone (LH) surge to help you identify your fertile window, and pregnancy test strips that detect human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) for early pregnancy detection. It's a practical option whether you're just starting to learn your cycle or have been actively trying to conceive.
The kit is built around FirstView's extra-wide 5 mm test strips, which are designed for improved visibility, easier handling, and clearer result interpretation than narrower strips. Each strip is individually wrapped to keep it sealed until you need it, and the kit is suitable for women with regular or irregular cycles. Results can also be uploaded to a compatible free fertility-tracking app (PreMom) if you'd like to record trends and cycle history over time.
How it works
- Ovulation strips: These detect the rise in luteinising hormone that typically occurs shortly before ovulation. A test line as dark as or darker than the control line is a positive result, which suggests ovulation may occur soon — helping you pinpoint your most fertile days.
- Pregnancy strips: These detect hCG in urine at a sensitivity of 10 mIU/ml. Two lines indicate a positive result and one line (the control line only) indicates negative. At this sensitivity they may detect pregnancy before the expected period, though results are generally more reliable closer to or after the day the period is due.
- Control line: A visible control line confirms the test performed correctly. If no control line appears, the result is invalid and the test should be discarded and repeated with a new strip.
- App tracking: Results may be uploaded to a compatible free fertility-tracking app, where you can track LH trends, log pregnancy-test results, estimate fertile windows, record cycle history and basal body temperature, and review patterns over time. App availability and features are provided by an independent third-party developer and may change.
How to use
- Collect urine in a clean, dry container.
- Dip the strip into the urine for the time stated in the supplied instructions, taking care not to immerse it beyond the maximum line.
- Remove the strip and place it flat on a clean, dry surface.
- Read the result within the indicated time window — ovulation results in 5–10 minutes and pregnancy results in 3–5 minutes.
Do not interpret results after the maximum reading time stated in the instructions, as evaporation lines or other changes may affect interpretation. For ovulation testing, test at roughly the same time each day and follow the supplied instructions on the best time of day, rather than relying on first morning urine unless the instructions recommend it. For pregnancy testing, first morning urine may give the most concentrated sample, particularly when testing early. Used as directed, the tests are stated to be up to 99% accurate.
Choosing a pack size
The kit is available in a range of ovulation-to-pregnancy test combinations to match how you're testing — from a compact option for occasional or first-time use, through balanced everyday quantities, up to larger quantities suited to longer-term tracking and monitoring.
Best For
The FirstView Fertility Testing Kit is a great option for parents-to-be who:
- Want to track their fertile window and confirm pregnancy using one combined kit
- Prefer wider, easier-to-read strips for clearer interpretation
- Have regular or irregular cycles and want to test consistently over time
- Like the idea of logging results in a free fertility-tracking app
It may not be the best fit if you:
- Are looking for a single digital reader rather than line-based strips
- Need a clinical fertility assessment rather than home tracking
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and excessive heat. Do not freeze, keep each test sealed until immediately before use, and do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
Good to know
Ovulation tests predict an LH surge but do not confirm that ovulation has actually occurred, and pregnancy tests may produce false-negative results when testing is done too early or with diluted urine. Certain fertility medicines and medical conditions may affect results. A positive pregnancy test should be confirmed with a healthcare professional. Seek medical advice if your period remains absent despite repeated negative tests, if you experience significant pain or bleeding with a positive pregnancy test, if your cycles are persistently irregular, or if you've been trying to conceive without success and would like fertility advice. This product is intended for home fertility tracking and early pregnancy testing and does not replace professional medical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment. Always read and follow the instructions included with the kit, and keep out of reach of children.
Pandylane Pro Tip: Avoid excessive fluid intake for at least two hours before testing — diluted urine can lower hormone concentration and make an LH surge or early hCG harder to detect. And if a pregnancy result is faint, negative, or uncertain and your period hasn't started, repeat the test after about 48 hours, when hCG levels may have risen.
