The Dreamland Baby Weighted Sleep Sack is a wearable sleep sack made from 100% natural, soft cotton with a gently weighted panel across the front. Part of Dreamland Baby's weighted sleepwear range, it's worn like a sleep bag rather than used as a loose cover, keeping your little one dressed for sleep while they move in their cot.
The weight is evenly distributed across the front of the sack, from the shoulders down to the toes, and sits on top only rather than wrapping around your baby. Dreamland Baby refers to this as its CoverCalm® design. Because the weight is on the front, it is not intended to restrict movement, so your little one can still roll, sit or stand while wearing it. The sack is rated at 1.0 TOG, a lighter weight suited to rooms kept at around 21–23°C, which you can pair with appropriate base layers for the conditions in your nursery.
Design and everyday features
- Front-only weighting: The gentle weight runs across the front of the sack from shoulders to toes and sits on top only, so it is not intended to limit how your baby moves.
- Two-way zip: Opens from the bottom as well as the top, so you can manage a nappy change without fully undressing your baby.
- Reversible neckline: The neckline can be worn either way round.
- Tagless and machine washable: A tagless finish helps avoid irritation against the skin, and the sack can go in the machine for everyday washing.
- 1.0 TOG rating: A lighter-weight rating suited to rooms at around 21–23°C.
Size and fit
The Dreamland Baby Weighted Sleep Sack is indicated for infants weighing 8 lbs (about 3.6 kg) and up, and comes in Size 1 (0–6 months) and Size 3 (12–24 months). For safety reasons the manufacturer advises against sizing up, so choose the size that matches your child's current stage rather than one to grow into.
Materials and certification
It's made from 100% natural cotton, and the inner beads that provide the weight are non-toxic and BPA-free. The fabric carries STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, an independent textile standard that tests for harmful substances. Dreamland Baby developed the range in collaboration with paediatricians, NICU nurses and certified sleep consultants.
Important safe-sleep information
Weighted sleep products for babies are not an ordinary sleep-sack variant. Current safe-sleep guidance, including the American Academy of Pediatrics' 2022 recommendations, advises against weighted blankets, weighted sleepers and weighted swaddles for infants. Before using a weighted sleep sack, we'd encourage you to speak to your paediatrician or healthcare provider about whether it's suitable for your baby.
Whatever your baby wears, current guidance is to place them on their back to sleep on a firm, flat, level surface in their own clear sleep space. Always follow the product's use instructions: it is indicated for infants 8 lbs and up, and the manufacturer advises against sizing up.
