Dreambaby Ava 18cm Gate Extension

The Dreambaby Ava 18cm Gate Extension is an add-on panel that widens the Dreambaby Ava Safety Gate to fit broader openings. If your doorway, hallway or stair area is too wide for the standard gate on its own, this extension bridges the gap so the barrier still spans the full space you need to block off.

Each extension adds 18cm of width. By choosing the right combination of extensions, you can widen an Ava gate to span up to 1.35 metres in total. Extensions come in 9cm, 18cm and 27cm sizes, so you can match the extra width to the opening you're working with. This one is finished in charcoal and made from steel to sit in with the standard-height Ava range.

Compatibility and fit

This extension is designed to work with Dreambaby Ava standard height gates. It's an accessory rather than a standalone barrier, so you'll need an Ava gate for it to attach to. An Ava gate accepts a maximum of two extensions — one on each side — which is worth keeping in mind when you're planning how wide you need to go. How to fit it

The extension simply attaches to your Ava gate before you install the gate itself. The Ava is a pressure-mounted design, so no drilling is required. If your gate uses the supplied mounting cups and double-sided tape against the wall, allow the tape to set for at least 24 hours before tugging on the gate or putting it under pressure.
