How it Works

Accuracy and specifications

The BPM 382 measures pressure to an accuracy of ±3 mmHg and pulse to ±5%. It comes with an adjustable adult arm cuff suited to upper-arm circumferences of 22–40 cm (8.7–15.7 inches) — measure your upper arm before use to check the cuff is suitable. Readings complete in under a minute, and the device powers off automatically after 60 seconds of inactivity to conserve power. It can run on 4 × AAA batteries (included) or a compatible USB Type-C cable (not included).

How to Use

For the most accurate results, a little preparation goes a long way:

1. Avoid caffeine, smoking, exercise or a large meal for at least 30 minutes before measuring.
2. Empty your bladder before taking a reading.
3. Sit quietly for at least five minutes before you start.
4. Keep both feet flat on the floor and support your back.
5. Rest your arm at heart level and fit the cuff correctly.
6. Stay still and don't talk during the reading.
7. Where possible, take two readings one minute apart and record the average.
8. Measure at roughly the same time each day, and use the same arm consistently unless a healthcare professional advises otherwise.
