The Beurer BR 60 Mosquito Bite Healer is a compact, battery-operated device that uses concentrated heat, rather than creams or chemicals, to relieve the itching and swelling from insect bites and stings. Hold the fast-heating ceramic plate against a fresh mozzie bite, bee sting or another small insect bite, press the button, and the device warms the spot to help calm the itch. Because it works through heat alone and uses no chemical additives, the BR 60 is designed for use by the whole family, including children and pregnant women. How it works
- Localised heat: A quick-warming mini ceramic plate heats to a maximum of 50°C (±2°C) — a temperature that is safe for skin but which alters the toxins from a bite or sting to help relieve itchiness and swelling and speed up healing.
- Fast relief: Held against the bite, the plate is designed to ease the itching within about 3 to 6 seconds.
- Two programmes: Because some people are more sensitive to heat than others, you can choose between two time settings — a shorter 3-second cycle for sensitive skin and a 6-second cycle for regular use.
- Auto switch-off: The device turns itself off automatically 2 minutes after the last application, so it isn't left running in your bag.
How to use
Simply hold the fast-heating plate on the bite or sting and activate it by pressing the button. Choose the shorter programme if your skin is more sensitive to heat, or the longer one for regular use.
Small enough to keep close
Measuring 9.8 x 3.5 x 1.9 cm and weighing just 47 g with batteries in, the BR 60 slips easily into a handbag, glovebox or backpack, so first-aid relief for itching is always within reach at home and on the go. It runs on 2 x 1.5 V AAA (LR03) batteries, which are included so you can use it straight away — the manufacturer advises against using rechargeable batteries in this device.
