Woodward's is a name many South African parents already know, best known for its gripe water. It's the kind of product that turns up in memories of a grandmother's medicine cupboard, or gets mentioned by another parent at a baby group, and it has held a steady, familiar place on pharmacy and grocery shelves for a long time.

It comes in a simple liquid format, meant to be used according to the instructions on the label. As with anything you give a young baby, it's worth reading the pack carefully and checking with your pharmacist or clinic sister if you're unsure. You'll find Woodward's Gripe Water at Pandylane alongside the rest of your baby care essentials.
