Eufy S1 Pro vs S2 Pro vs E20: What’s the Difference & Which Breast Pump Is Right for You?

So you’ve decided you want a wearable breast pump, you’ve come across the eufy range, and you’re thinking: these all look amazing… but how do I actually choose between them?!

The E20, S1 Pro and S2 Pro all offer hands-free pumping, but each one brings something slightly different to the table. Some of those differences may not matter much to you, while others could be genuinely game-changing for your breastfeeding journey — and worth spending a little more on.

So, which features actually matter? What are the real differences between the three pumps? And which one is going to work best for you, your pumping routine and your needs? We’ve taken a deep dive into the eufy range to break down the features, the differences and the things we think are actually worth paying attention to, so you can choose the pump that makes the most sense for you — rather than simply going for the newest or most expensive option.

Suction Settings

When it comes to breast pump suction, more isn’t necessarily better. The most effective setting is the one that gives you good milk removal while still feeling comfortable — and that can look different from person to person.

All three eufy pumps offer a good range of suction adjustment, but they differ in how finely you can fine-tune the intensity. The E20, S1 and S1 Pro each have 7 suction levels, while the S2 Pro offers 10 levels. All of the eufy pumps in the range can reach up to 300 mmHg of maximum suction, which is exceptionally strong for a wearable breast pump and gives you plenty of power when you need it.

Importantly, these suction settings can be adjusted directly on the pump unit itself, so you don’t need to have your phone or the app open every time you want to increase or decrease the suction.

The S2 Pro isn’t stronger at its maximum — it simply gives you more steps to adjust between, allowing for more precise control over intensity.

This means the real question isn’t “Which pump has the strongest suction?” but rather “Which pump gives me the level of control I need to find my most comfortable and effective setting?”

Eufy E20

The E20 offers 7 suction levels, giving you a good range of intensity to find a setting that feels comfortable and effective for you.

Eufy S1 Pro

The S1 Pro also offers 7 suction levels so the basic suction and speed controls are very similar to the E20.

Eufy S2 Pro

The S2 Pro offers 10 suction levels, compared with 7 on the other models. The additional levels give you more precise control, with smaller adjustments between settings to help you find your ideal intensity.

Cycle Speed

Alongside suction strength, you can also adjust the speed of the pumping cycle. While suction determines how strongly the pump pulls, cycle speed controls how quickly those pulls happen. Being able to adjust both gives you more control over how a pumping session feels and allows you to find a combination that works best for your body.

All three eufy pumps offer 3 cycle-speed settings, which can be adjusted through the eufy app. This gives you more control over the pace of your pumping without needing to physically adjust the pump itself.

The cycle speed also doesn’t work in isolation. eufy’s pumping system combines suction strength, cycle speed and different pumping rhythms or modes to create different patterns of stimulation and milk expression. The exact options and level of customisation vary between the E20, S1 Pro and S2 Pro, which is where some of the more meaningful differences between the pumps begin to emerge.

Standard Pumping Modes

All three eufy pumps — the E20, S1 Pro and S2 Pro — have the same two basic pumping modes: Stimulation Mode and Expression Mode.

  • Stimulation Mode is designed to mimic the faster, lighter sucking pattern a baby typically uses at the beginning of a feed. The aim is to help stimulate the breast and encourage milk let-down.
  • Expression Mode is designed for milk removal. It generally uses a slower, stronger suction pattern to help express milk once your milk has started flowing.

You can switch between Stimulation and Expression Mode either through the eufy app or directly on the pump itself, so you don’t need your phone with you every time you want to change modes during a session.

But these two modes are only one part of how the eufy pumping system works.

OptiRhythm™ Technology

OptiRhythm™ is eufy’s system for controlling the overall pattern of suction during a pumping session. Rather than simply choosing how strong the pump feels, OptiRhythm™ changes the way the suction pattern behaves over time — helping create different pumping experiences depending on whether you want to prioritise milk output, mimic a baby’s natural sucking pattern, follow a more traditional pumping sensation, or keep things gentler and more comfortable.

This is separate from suction level and cycle speed. Your suction level determines how strongly the pump pulls, while cycle speed determines how quickly the suction cycles occur. The rhythm sits above these settings, determining the overall pattern of the pumping session. eufy describes the system as allowing you to choose between different rhythms while still adjusting suction intensity and cycle speed to personalise the experience.

The Four Preset OptiRhythm™ Patterns

Across the E20 and S1 Pro, eufy offers four preset OptiRhythm™ options:

  • Max Rhythm – This is the preset to try if your priority is milk removal and output. It uses a more output-focused suction pattern rather than trying to replicate the way a baby feeds. eufy specifically describes Max as being designed or optimised for maximum milk output
  • Natural Rhythm – This is designed to make the pumping pattern feel more like a baby’s sucking. Rather than giving you the more predictable sensation of a traditional electric pump, it uses a more natural-feeling pattern intended to mimic infant sucking.
  • Standard Rhythm – This is the most familiar option if you’ve used a traditional electric breast pump before. It is designed to provide a more conventional electric-pump sensation, making it a good starting point for someone who doesn’t specifically want a more natural or gentler pattern.
  • Gentle Rhythm – This is the softer option, with a lighter pumping sensation. This is the option for sensitive nipples.

The idea is that there isn’t one pumping pattern that works best for everyone. You can choose the pattern that best matches what you’re trying to achieve, and then fine-tune the suction intensity and cycle speed around it.

Eufy S2 Pro Upgrades to OptiRhythm™ 2.0

OptiRhythm™ 2.0 is eufy’s upgraded system for controlling the way suction changes throughout a pumping session. While the earlier OptiRhythm™ system focuses on preset pumping rhythms, the S2 Pro’s upgraded system uses Flow Curves to give you more control over both the rhythm and intensity pattern of the suction cycle.

In simple terms, OptiRhythm™ 2.0 gives you a more detailed way to customise how the pump feels throughout your session, rather than simply choosing how strong or fast the suction is.

Eufy E20

Offers four preset OptiRhythm™ rhythms — Max, Natural, Standard and Gentle — plus the ability to create a customised rhythm in the app.

Eufy S1 Pro

Offers the same four preset OptiRhythm™ rhythms — Max, Natural, Standard and Gentle — plus DIY Rhythm, allowing you to create and save a personalised pumping pattern.

Eufy S2 Pro

Uses OptiRhythm™ 2.0 with four preset Flow Curves — Max, Natural, Standard and Gentle — plus DIY 2.0, giving you the most advanced control over how your pumping pattern changes throughout a session.

DIY Pumping Rhythms

The DIY function lets you move beyond eufy’s preset pumping patterns and create a rhythm that suits you. Instead of simply choosing Max, Natural, Standard or Gentle, you can customise the way the pump behaves during your session — adjusting the suction pattern and how long different settings are used. You can then save your personalised rhythm and reuse it for future sessions.

The main benefit is personalisation. Every parent responds differently to pumping, and what feels comfortable or works well for one person may not work as well for another. DIY allows you to experiment with different combinations until you find a pattern that suits your let-down, milk flow, comfort and preferred pumping style, rather than having to fit yourself around one of the manufacturer’s preset pattern

Eufy E20

Ceate a personalised rhythm in the eufy app by adjusting the suction/expression pattern and how long each setting runs, then save up to five custom rhythms for future sessions.

Eufy S1 Pro

  • DIY Rhythm 1.0 lets you customise the suction/expression settings and their duration, allowing you to build a pumping pattern that changes throughout your session and save up to five personalised rhythms.

Eufy S2 Pro

DIY 2.0 gives you the most control, allowing you to build a sequence of Stimulation, Expression and Rest phases, with both the level and duration of each phase adjustable before saving the routine for reuse.

Heating Flanges

All three eufy pumps feature built-in warming in the breast shield, designed to provide gentle, consistent warmth while you pump. The idea behind heated pumping is that warmth can help promote relaxation and comfort during a session, while also supporting milk flow by encouraging the breast tissue to stay warm and relaxed.

This can be particularly helpful if you find pumping uncomfortable or tend to experience slower milk flow when you’re cold or tense. The eufy range lets you adjust the level of warmth, so you can find a temperature that feels comfortable for you.

Eufy E20

The E20 offers 3 temperature settings — 35°C, 38°C and 42°C — giving you a few simple options depending on how much warmth you prefer.

Eufy S1 Pro

The S1 Pro takes the heating function a step further with 7 adjustable HeatFlow™ levels from 35°C to 41°C. This gives you more control over the amount of warmth during your pumping session

Eufy S2 Pro

The S2 Pro takes the heating system another step further with HeatFlow™ 2.0. It still offers 7 temperature settings from 35°C to 41°C, but the heating system has been redesigned to provide a larger, 360° wrap-around heated area around the breast shield. HeatFlow™ 2.0 is also designed to heat up much faster, reaching the selected temperature in around 15 seconds.

Battery & Charging

All three pumps are rechargeable and designed for cordless pumping, but the way they charge differs between models.

Eufy E20

The E20 provides around 2.5 hours of pumping time (approximately 4–6 sessions) per charge and charges directly via USB-C. It doesn’t include a charging case, so the pump itself needs to be plugged in to recharge.

Eufy S1 Pro

The S1 Pro offers around 3 hours of pump battery life and comes with a wireless charging case that can provide up to 5 days of pumping based on three 20-minute sessions per day without heating. Simply place the pumps into the case between sessions to recharge them.

Eufy S2 Pro

The S2 Pro has around 6.5 hours of pump battery life and comes with the upgraded Wireless Charging Case 2.0, which provides up to 6 days of pumping power under eufy’s stated testing conditions. The case can recharge both pumps approximately 1.5 times.

Pump Deisgn & VibraPump™ Technology

All three eufy pumps are designed as wearable, hands-free pumps that sit inside your bra, with the motor, collection cup and breast shield integrated into a compact unit. The E20 and S1 Pro have a very similar overall design, with the same style of silicone flange and collection cup, while the motor and controls sit on top of the cup. Both also have a milk outlet with a stopper that can be closed to help prevent leaks — so for normal everyday movement, you should be absolutely fine. That said, they’re not exactly designed for lying flat or doing cartwheels while pumping!

The S2 Pro introduces some significant design changes. Its 360° transparent collection cup makes it much easier to see your nipple and check alignment, while the built-in nipple light makes positioning easier during night-time pumping. It also adds smart full-milk and overflow detection: when the cup is full, the pump can automatically stop and alert you, while overflow/leak alerts can notify you through the pump and app.

On top of these design upgrades, the S2 Pro adds VibraPump™ massage — a built-in vibration system with a 12 mm massage head designed to provide deeper, targeted vibration while you pump. eufy says it is designed to help relieve fullness or engorgement, support the clearing of clogged ducts and assist with breast emptying. You can choose from four massage modes — Boost, Relieve, Soothe and Fusion — with three intensity levels: Low, Medium and High. The massage can also be customised through the app using DIY mode, giving you more control over how the vibration works alongside your pumping session

Eufy E20

The most straightforward of the three, with a compact wearable design, 150 ml collection cups and a simple top-mounted motor and controls, plus built-in HeatFlow™ warming.

Eufy S1 Pro

Similar wearable design to the E20 but with a more powerful feature set, including a 150 ml cup, top-mounted motor and controls, built-in HeatFlow™ warming and a convenient wireless charging case.

Eufy S2 Pro

The most redesigned of the three, with a transparent 360° cup for easier alignment and milk visibility, a built-in nipple light, smart milk-level alerts and the upgraded HeatFlow™ 2.0 and VibraPump™ massage system.

Does VibraPump™ Actually Help?

eufy designed VibraPump™ to add gentle breast massage while you pump, with the aim of helping relieve fullness and engorgement, encourage milk flow and help empty the breast more efficiently. eufy’s own internal testing found that its 12 mm massage head delivered 1.5× deeper impact and reduced pumping time by around 30% — although these results come from eufy’s testing rather than independent clinical trials.

There is some research showing that gentle breast massage can help with breast pain, engorgement and milk stasis, so the idea behind adding massage isn’t completely without evidence. However, we don’t yet have good evidence that vibration itself is better than gentle manual massage, increases milk supply or actually “clears” blocked ducts.

So, we’d see VibraPump as a potentially useful comfort and breast-emptying feature, rather than something proven to boost supply or clear blocked ducts.

Included Accessories & Flange Size Options & Spares

All three eufy pumps come with the essentials you need to get started, and the core accessories are very similar across the range. Each comes with a 24 mm flange, 17 mm, 19 mm and 21 mm flange inserts, a nipple-sizing card, cleaning brush and two spare valves. A 28 mm flange is also available separately, which is worth considering if you need a larger flange size, but it is not included in the box.

The main difference is in the additional accessories. The E20 comes with a USB-C charging cable, while both the S1 Pro and S2 Pro come with wireless charging cases, making them particularly convenient if you are pumping regularly or travelling. The S1 Pro includes the Wireless Charging Case 1.0, while the S2 Pro comes with the newer Wireless Charging Case 2.0.

It’s also worth thinking about spare parts when choosing a wearable pump. Parts such as the valves and silicone components are consumable, so they will eventually need to be replaced as they wear out, particularly with frequent pumping. The E20 and S1 Pro have been around for longer and use more established components, so replacement parts are generally easier to find. The S2 Pro is a newer model with a more specialised design, so sourcing replacement parts can be a little more complicated at the moment. However, steady supply of S2 Pro spares in South Africa should be available from the beginning of January 2026, which should make this less of a concern for long-term use.

So, Which Eufy Pump Should You Choose?

After looking at all three pumps, the biggest takeaway is that there isn’t one eufy pump that is automatically best for everyone. All three offer strong suction, heating, app control and multiple pumping settings, so even the E20 gives you a surprisingly capable wearable pump without moving into the higher price brackets.

Eufy E20

The E20 makes the most sense if you want a straightforward heated wearable pump with plenty of suction and customisation, without paying extra for features you may not use.

Eufy S1 Pro

The S1 Pro is a great middle ground if you want more precise heating, a charging case and greater control over your pumping rhythms. It gives you many of the features that make the eufy range stand out without going all the way to the S2 Pro.

Eufy S2 Pro

The S2 Pro is the feature-packed option. Its 10 suction levels, more advanced rhythm customisation, transparent design, nipple light, smart milk alerts, HeatFlow™ 2.0 and VibraPump™ make it the most sophisticated of the three. Whether those extras are worth the additional cost really depends on how much you value that extra level of control and convenience.

Our Thoughts

If we strip away the marketing and look at the three pumps practically, the differences are less about “which pump is strongest?” and more about how much control and convenience you want.

All three have more than enough suction for most users, and maximum suction shouldn’t be the deciding factor — higher suction isn’t automatically better, and eufy itself recommends using the highest level that remains comfortable. The S2 Pro’s 10 levels are useful because they give you more room to fine-tune the intensity, rather than because the pump is fundamentally stronger.

The features I’d pay the most attention to are therefore flange fit, comfort, heating, rhythm customisation, battery/charging and how often you plan to pump. The S2 Pro’s VibraPump is an interesting addition, but I’d treat it as a potentially useful comfort and breast-emptying feature rather than a proven way to increase milk supply or clear blocked ducts. Eufy’s own performance claims are based on internal laboratory testing, while the independent evidence for vibration specifically is still limited.

For an occasional or occasional-to-regular pumper, the E20 is arguably the sweet spot: you get the core eufy experience without paying for every extra feature. For someone pumping frequently who wants a charging case and more control, the S1 Pro is the middle ground I’d seriously consider. And for an exclusive pumper or someone who really values maximum adjustability and convenience, the S2 Pro is the most complete package — but you’re paying for refinement and additional features rather than dramatically more suction power.

Ultimately, we’d choose based on how you actually plan to pump, rather than simply choosing the pump with the most features. If you’re primarily looking for reliable everyday pumping, the E20 or S1 Pro may give you everything you need. If you’re an exclusive or frequent pumper and really value fine-tuning, convenience and additional features, the S2 Pro is where the extra investment starts to make more sense.
