At this stage your little one is bigger, busier and on the move, so these nappies focus on a snug, flexible fit alongside dependable absorbency and leak protection for daytime and overnight wear.

Size 5 sits at the top of the Huggies Extra Care range, which spans from premature and newborn sizes right through the toddler stage. It brings together breathable materials, soft absorbent pillows, a wetness indicator and adjustable tabs so the everyday routine of changing an active toddler stays that little bit easier.

A comfortable fit for a growing toddler

Toddlers rarely stay still, so fit matters as much as absorbency at this stage. The stretchy waistband helps give a snug, comfortable fit while allowing natural movement, and the fasten-anywhere tabs let you customise the fit as your child grows and shifts through the day. Leg barriers and a close-fitting waistband work together to help contain wetness and reduce leaks around the legs and back.

Absorbency you can rely on, day and night

The absorbent core is designed to lock away moisture to help keep your toddler dry and comfortable for longer, including overnight. Soft absorbent pillows in the inner layer help draw wetness away from the skin, while the breathable, porous outer material allows air to circulate to help reduce moisture build-up. A special runny-poo pocket in the back waistband helps contain runnier stools and reduce leakage and blowouts, and the soft materials are designed to feel gentle against delicate skin.

How it works

Wetness indicator: A strip on the nappy changes colour when wet, helping you tell when it may be time for a change without a full undress.

Runny-poo pocket: A pocketed back waistband is shaped to catch runnier stools and help stop them escaping up the back.

Breathable outer: The porous outer cover lets air move around the skin to help limit moisture build-up.

Fasten-anywhere tabs: Adjustable outer tabs grip across the front panel so you can fine-tune the fit rather than being locked to fixed positions.

How to use

Place the clean, open nappy under the baby.

Bring the front panel up between the legs.

Fasten both tabs securely to the front panel.

Adjust the waistband so it sits comfortably and evenly.

Ensure the leg cuffs are pulled outward rather than tucked inside.

Check that the fit is snug but not tight.

Change the nappy when wet or soiled, and clean and dry the skin before fitting a fresh one.

Change nappies regularly and immediately after a bowel movement to help protect the skin. Do not flush nappies down the toilet — remove solid stool into the toilet where practical, wrap the used nappy securely, and dispose of it in an appropriate household waste bin.

Best for

The Huggies Extra Care Size 5 is a good fit for parents who:

Have an older baby or toddler weighing around 15 kg or more

Want an adjustable, stretchy fit that moves with an active child

Are looking for absorbency that lasts through the day and overnight

It may not be the right size if your baby is still below the 15 kg mark — the range also runs down through newborn and infant sizes, so a smaller size may give a better fit. Size overlaps are intentional, so where your child falls between two sizes, let body shape, fit, leakage and comfort guide the choice.

Pandylane Pro Tip

Pandylane Pro Tip: If you're seeing more frequent leaks or blowouts, red marks around the tummy or thighs, tabs that no longer reach comfortably, or a nappy that looks fully saturated before your usual change time, it's usually a sign to move up a size rather than a fault with the nappy itself.

Safety

Keep the plastic packaging away from babies and children to avoid the risk of suffocation, and never use the plastic bag in cots, beds, prams, carriages or playpens. Never leave a baby unattended on a changing surface. Stop using the product and seek medical advice if your baby develops severe or persistent skin irritation, blistering, swelling, or signs of infection. Store in a cool, dry place, away from moisture, excessive heat and direct sunlight, and keep unused nappies inside their packaging until needed.
