Where colostrum has traditionally been collected in single-use plastic syringes, each of these collectors is made from 100% medical-grade silicone, so you can collect those small, precious early volumes, cap them for the fridge or freezer, and use them when your baby needs them.

This is a suction-style collector: the soft, squeezable body creates a gentle vacuum, and the removable nib lets you draw colostrum off the nipple directly. Because active suction adds breast stimulation, antenatal expressing should only be done once your healthcare team has given you the go-ahead "tube" holds up to 4 ml, with clear measurement markings so you can keep track of how much you've collected.

How it works

Squeezable silicone body: Gently squeezing the soft collector creates a vacuum effect that helps draw out and collect droplets of colostrum with minimal effort.

Removable nib: The nib suctions colostrum from the nipple, and can also be removed so you can express directly into the collector by hand.

One container from collection to feed: Colostrum is collected, stored and fed from the same collector, so there's no transferring between containers.

Clear measurements: Markings on the body let you see exactly how much you've collected — helpful when every millilitre counts at this early stage.

Materials and care

Each collector is made from 100% medical-grade silicone and is BPA-, PVC- and phthalate-free, so it won't leach into the colostrum inside. The silicone is heat- and freeze-resistant, which means each collector can be stored safely in the fridge or freezer, and unlike a single-use syringe, it's designed to be cleaned and reused. The pair arrives pre-sterilised and ready to use straight from the packaging — check the packaging first, and if it's damaged or already open, sanitise the collectors before the first use.

Labelling and portability

Each collector comes with its own sticker, so you can label and date what you've expressed — useful whether you're building up a small store before your due date or collecting after birth. Both are compact and portable, and the leakproof design makes them practical to keep with you.

Best For

The Haakaa Silicone Colostrum Collector and Feeder is a great option for parents who:

Want a reusable alternative to single-use colostrum syringes

Prefer to collect, store and feed from one medical-grade silicone container

Have been cleared by their healthcare team to express colostrum antenatally, or want to collect after birth

Want fridge- and freezer-safe collectors with clear volume markings

Disclaimer

If collecting colostrum before your baby arrives is something you'd like to do, please chat with your healthcare team — especially your OB-GYN — to check whether it's right for you.
