ergopouch-sleep-onesie-3-5-tog
ergoPouch Sleep Onesie 3.5 TOG

The ergoPouch Sleep Onesie 3.5 TOG is a TOG-rated sleeping bag alternative — a wearable, arms-out sleep suit with separate legs that keeps your little one warm overnight without any loose blankets in the cot or bed. It can be worn on its own or over a Layer or PJs for extra warmth, making it a practical option for toddlers and preschoolers who have outgrown a traditional sleeping bag but still need help staying cosy through the night.

Because it's designed with separate legs and arms-out sleeves, the Sleep Onesie suits little ones who like to move — the classic "starfish" sleepers who find a sleeping bag too restrictive, kids who kick their blankets off, and those transitioning into a big bed. The 3.5 TOG rating is intended for rooms sitting around 17–23°C, so it's a warmer weight aimed at cooler nights.

Warmth without loose bedding

The 3.5 TOG rating means there's no need for additional blankets in the cot, which keeps the sleep space clear. For older toddlers and preschoolers who are 'blanket-training' in a big bed, the onesie helps keep them warm if they kick the blankets off during the night. If you're using it for blanket training with a light blanket on top, keep an eye on warmth to help prevent overheating. To make layering easier, the Sleep Onesie comes with a free room thermometer and a What to Wear guide, so you can dress your child appropriately underneath for the room temperature.

Made to move

The super-stretchy fabric lets your little one move freely and settle comfortably. Separate legs allow natural leg movement, the arms-out sleeves are rated at 1.0 TOG, and fold-over foot cuffs add extra warmth for little toes (with hand cuffs on the smaller sizes if needed). A three-way zip runs back-to-front, so you can manage overnight nappy changes or quick toilet trips without fully undressing your child. It's available in sizes from 6–12M through to 4–5Y.

Gentle, organic fabric

The Sleep Onesie is made from and filled with GOTS certified organic cotton — a breathable natural fibre that's certified non-toxic and gentle on irritable skin. The fabrics are dyed with non-toxic water-based dyes and come in prints designed in-house by ergoPouch Australia. It meets international safety standards, is approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as hip-friendly for growing hip joints, and has been reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia as a skin-friendly product.

How to Use

Undo the top zip of the suit and lay it on a low, flat surface.

Lay your child on top of the suit and slide their arms and legs in, then zip up.

Fold over the foot cuffs (and the hand cuffs on smaller sizes, if needed).

To change a nappy or use the toilet, undo the three-way zip from back-to-front, remove the legs and lower torso as needed, then put the legs back in and zip around the back to finish.

Best For

The ergoPouch Sleep Onesie 3.5 TOG is a great option for parents who:

Have a toddler or preschooler transitioning into a big bed and blanket-training

Have a child who kicks their blankets off or dislikes the restriction of a sleeping bag

Want a warmer-weight garment for rooms around 17–23°C

Prefer arms-out sleeping with freedom to move

Value GOTS certified organic cotton against sensitive skin

Care

Gentle cold wash, low tumble dry, moderately hot iron, drycleanable.
