cozy-n-safe-excalibur-extended-harness-isize-car-seat
Cozy n Safe Excalibur Extended Harness iSize Car Seat

The Cozy N Safe Excalibur Extended Harness i-Size Car Seat is a forward-facing child restraint designed to travel with your little one over the long haul — from around 15 months right through to approximately 12 years. Its standout feature is an integral 5-point harness that keeps working far longer than most, staying in use up to 25kg or 125cm (roughly 6 years old), before the seat converts into a high-backed booster for the years that follow.

Tested to ECE R129 (the i-Size framework) and carrying Swedish E5 approval, the Excalibur is built around a steel-reinforced shell with deep padding and side impact protection. It suits a height range of 76 to 150cm, making it a single seat that adapts through several stages rather than needing to be replaced as your child grows.

An extended harness that grows into a booster

Where many forward-facing seats move a child onto the vehicle belt earlier, the Excalibur's extended harness lets you keep your child in the integral 5-point harness up to 125cm. When they outgrow the harness, the seat adapts into a high-backed booster — the harness tucks away and the vehicle's own 3-point seat belt takes over — usable up to 150cm (approximately 36kg / 12 years). This gives you two distinct modes in one seat, so the same restraint carries your child through the toddler years and into the booster stage.

Fitting it in your vehicle

The Excalibur installs using the ISOFIX connection points with top tether, and/or by the vehicle's 3-point seat belt, with clear indicators and guides to help you confirm the fit. A base support wedge is included to help it adapt to most vehicles, and Cozy N Safe notes compatibility with most makes and models of car. As with any restraint, always check the seat's instruction manual against your vehicle handbook for the intended seating position, and follow the installation method exactly as instructed rather than combining methods that aren't permitted.

Comfort and everyday care

An adjustable headrest works together with removable inserts — including a toddler insert — to fine-tune the fit as your child gets taller. Deep padding and a design built for enhanced breathability help keep longer journeys more comfortable, which matters on hot South African days and long car trips. All the covers are made from soft materials and remove easily for cleaning at 30°C. The seat weighs 11kg and measures H63cm x W42.5cm x D52cm.

Best For

The Cozy N Safe Excalibur is a great option for parents who:

Want a single forward-facing seat that spans from around 15 months to the booster years

Prefer to keep their child in a 5-point harness for longer — in this case up to 125cm

Have ISOFIX and top tether anchor points, or plan to install using the vehicle's 3-point belt

It may not be the best fit if you:

Need a rear-facing seat for a younger baby under 15 months or below 76cm

Are looking for the most compact seat for a tight three-across back seat

A note on safe use

This is a vehicle restraint intended for car travel, not for routine sleep outside the car. Side impact protection and approval apply to the seat correctly installed and used as instructed — check the manufacturer's manual for your child's height and weight limits in each mode, and confirm the seat suits your specific vehicle before every journey.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0728/9559/4673/files/cozy-n-safe-excalibur-extended-harness-isize-car-seat-1.jpg?v=1784522444
