breast-shield-inserts-2-pack
Breast Shield Inserts 2 Pack

The Breast Shield Inserts 2 Pack from All Things Breastfeeding are soft silicone flange inserts that sit inside your breast pump's flange to make the nipple tunnel smaller. Many pumps come with flanges of 24mm and up, but few offer sizes for parents with a nipple diameter under 20mm. These inserts close that gap, in sizes from 13mm to 24mm.

A flange that's too big can draw more of the areola into the tunnel, which many people find uncomfortable and which can make pumping less efficient. The soft silicone insert gives a snug fit inside the flange while keeping expressing comfortable.

Which pumps do they fit?

Hard flanges: Compatible with hard flange cups, including Spectra, Youha, Freemie, Imani and Medela.

Best fit: They sit best in a standard 24/25mm flange.

"Bubbled" flanges: They can be used with Tommee Tippee and Philips Avent pumps, though the fit isn't as good.

Larger 28–32mm flanges: The 24mm insert fits these, the 15mm fits loosely in a 28mm flange, and the 13mm doesn't fit a 28mm flange.

Choosing your size

Insert size is based on the diameter of your nipple, not your areola or the flange you already have. Measure before pumping, as nipples can change size during a session. Sizing guidance varies, and many people find their most comfortable size by trying one or two options.
