bibs-colour-latex-pacifier-1-pack
BIBS Colour Latex Pacifier 1 Pack

The BIBS Colour Latex Pacifier is the original BIBS dummy, a natural rubber latex soother with the brand's signature round shield and round, breast-shaped teat. It's a single-pack pacifier for non-nutritive sucking — comfort sucking rather than feeding — and has been part of the BIBS range for over 40 years. If you're after a classic round-teat dummy in soft natural latex, this is the shape the brand is best known for.

The teat is rounded and made to resemble the shape and size of the mother's breast. The lightweight round shield carries three ventilation holes and the familiar engraved handle ring, so baby has something to grip and you have something to hold onto.

How it works

Round teat shape: The rounded nipple is designed to encourage a similar tongue placement and sucking technique to breastfeeding, letting the sides of the tongue lift and cup around the teat.

Air-release valve: The teat has a valve that lets air out when baby closes down on it, so the nipple flattens and shapes to baby's oral cavity during use.

Vented shield: Three ventilation holes and a round shield that faces away from the delicate skin around baby's mouth help keep contact with the nose and mouth to a minimum, which means less chance of moisture building up from saliva that can lead to rashes and sore spots.

Materials and make

The teat is made from natural rubber latex, a softer, more elastic material than silicone. The shield is made from 100% food-safe material and is free from BPA, PVC and phthalates. The Colour range is designed and manufactured in Denmark. BIBS notes that this dummy is recommended by midwives to support natural breastfeeding — a reflection of the teat's design intention rather than a guaranteed outcome, as every baby latches and settles differently.

Sizing

BIBS Colour pacifiers come in stage sizes — Size 1 for 0+ months, Size 2 for 6+ months, with Size 3 also available — while the shield stays one size regardless of the teat size. Choosing the size that matches baby's stage keeps the teat and shield in the right proportion.

Best For

The BIBS Colour Latex Pacifier is a great option for parents who:

Prefer a classic round-teat dummy in soft natural rubber latex

Want a vented shield designed to reduce moisture contact around baby's mouth

Like the reassurance of a food-safe shield free from BPA, PVC and phthalates

It may not be the best fit if you:

Are managing a known or suspected latex allergy and would prefer a silicone teat

Want an anatomical or flat teat profile rather than a round one

Disclaimer

Because natural rubber latex is a natural material, some colour variation may occur. Natural latex is also relevant if there is any latex allergy in the family — check before use. Inspect the dummy before every use and pull the teat in all directions; replace it at the first signs of wear such as cracks, tears, stickiness, swelling or thinning. Keep dummies out of an occupied infant sleep space when attached to clips, cords or toys, and follow safe-sleep guidance. Always consider whether baby is hungry before offering a dummy, and never force it, sweeten it or modify it.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0728/9559/4673/files/bibs-colour-latex-pacifier-1-pack-1.jpg?v=1784537221
